Congregational Report – 2006

The commission members are: Craig Bush (Chairman) Norm Cory Tim Swisher Colleen Clark Sandy Sarber Rene Cunningham & Dick Fife is our Treasurer. Richard Hooker our custodian has continued to assist the commission throughout the year (with help from his wife Robin and daughter Sabrina).  Darren and Roy Martin have been replaced on this commission.

The year was filled with several activities. The commission was kept busy just maintaining the facility. With the building being 50+ years of age many items need attention.

Activities & projects throughout the year included the following:

• The “Handyman Program” has entered into its second year.  We have performed approx. 8 projects from furniture hauling yard work to home repair.  We are planning to   continue this project through 2007.  
• A large number of tree limbs and debris was cleaned up from the church grounds and hauled away after the several winter storms.   The (2) large sycamore trees on the south property line have been removed along with their stumps.
• The church website has been maintained by commission member Colleen Clark.  She continues to do an outstanding job.  Also we have installed DSL internet service in the church office for the staff’s use.
• We have purchased and installed a new outdoor internally lighted church sign along Lincoln Road.  The sign was purchased shipped and installed for price of $8 482.00.  The sign lighting is now operational and landscaping work will begin in the spring of 2007.  We would like to thank Dave Cox for all his legal services for this project without his help this project would not be completed today.

• The church lawn and landscaping was maintained by several persons/families again this year.  The time and effort these people commit to this job year in and year out goes somewhat unnoticed by the general public but is greatly appreciated by our church family.  A new tree was planted on the east side of the church to replace a tree that was removed for maintenance reasons.
• Tech Team has continued to provide sound video and lighting for worship services and other programs in the sanctuary.  The team consists of Carroll & Barb Corwin Craig & Evan Bush Chris & Mike Dzierla   Ed Stutzman Norm Cory and Dick Fife.  Also providing video materials for Sunday worship and singing Pastor Mark and Elaine Stone.
• Maintenance work for the boiler along with new recirculation pumps and air relief valves were provided by this commission and installed by Richard Hooker.
• This commission has received a letter of resignation from Richard Hooker our custodian.  He will be leaving this position as of December 31^st 2006.  We would like to thank him and his family for the years of service they have given to keeping the church clean and running.
