Prison Ministry Report
Joan and I have visited and counseled with four men who are in Prison, Shannon, David, Don, and now Albert. We have visited and counseled with Fred, Terry and Jeff, who have been released. We have driven many miles and spent a lot of hours visiting these men.
Shannon is doing well; he is still doing his collage work. Shannon will receive an associate’s degree in Theology at the end of this semester from Grace Christian Collage. Shannon attends Church Services there in Prison.
Don lives in the same unit as Shannon and also attends collage; he is a good friend of Shannon. We are able to visit Don and Shannon at the same time for two hours.
David is housed at the Prison near by and works full time at a paying job inside the Prison. He pays for his own room and board. We are unable to visit him often.
Albert missed a court date while on bond and was put back in the County jail waiting a court hearing. He hopes to get the matter resolved soon and back to a job and his home in Anderson.
Fred lives here in Kokomo and has a full time job working for a steel fabricating company installing roofs; he also has a part time job. He has his own apartment.
Terry was released last year and lives with his mother in Michigan. We hear from him by phone and when he comes back to Kokomo to visit his father. He tells us that he is going to church and helping his family live a better Christian life.
Jeff has a well paying job in Tipton. He lives alone and has his two boys most weekends.
Joan and I feel
God’s call to Prison Ministry. We feel his blessing. We thank our church
family for their support of money to help with expenses and moral
support.
