The Nurture Commissions member are Carrie Bush, Joe and Judy Denniston, Donna Hill, Alan Lawson, and Janita Beall.
The commission has been very busy this year planning many things for the church. We started the year by getting pulpit fill for the time between Don Richey leaving and Pastor Mark’s arrival. We have also filled the pulpit on the Sundays Mark has been gone. Next we started work on the Lenten Season. We planned and ask several people to help with the Ash Wednesday Prayer Vigil, Easter Lily Cross, Easter Breakfast, and the Easter Egg Hunt.
We purchased gifts for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. We also had honored our graduates. With the help of Cheryl Little and Rhonda Lipinski Bible school was held this summer with many children attending.
A bonfire and wiener roast is planned for October 22. The nurture commission with help passed and invitations to the neighborhood behind the church. Each Sunday School class was ask to donate some food item for this event.
We are in the full swing of planning for the Advent season. Alan and Shirley Lawson are in charge of Deck the Halls. Carrie Bush is working on the Children’s program and carry in dinner. Dick and Sharon Fife have agreed to be in charge of the Christmas Caroling. We have purchased Advent devotion booklets for all the church families and also children’s devotional booklets for the children.
Christine Phelps and Nancy Anderson have moved the library to a new location. Many new books have been added to the Library. Please take the time to check out the new library. A big thanks to them, this was a huge undertaking.
We found many church members to fill in at the piano during the summer and are grateful for their help.
We have filled many positions within the church and want to thank everyone who has helped this year. The committees and positions filled are Bible School, Children’s Church teachers, Sunday School teachers, Worship Committee, Historian, and Brethren Bridge.
Thank you again for all your help.
Respectfully Submitted, Carrie Bush
