Deacon’s Report 2005

The deacon body’s central interest is the spiritual and physical well-being of the church family. The deacon body is broken down into the following Caregiving functions:

 

Hospitality Ministries:

Greeters, Users, Visitor Welcome

 

Assistance Ministries:

Transportation, Benevolence; providing groceries, or $ to needy for food, shelter

Delivering food, checks or other assistance to needy

 

Shepherding/Caregiving Ministries:

Deliver worship tapes to the homebound

Deliver meals to the convalescing

Send cards, notes

Routine homebound visitation rotation

Contact members, both active and inactive

 

Ordinance Ministries:

Communion-Love Feast twice a year- Bread & Cup twice a year

Baptism assistance

Anointing-assist or conduct

 

Prayer:

Coordinate the prayer chain and pray regularly for the church body

 

New Members:

Provide gifts when joining

Arrange for a sponsor

 

Reconciliation Ministries

Provide when needed as per guidelines in the Deacon Manual

 

Currently, there are 25 members of the deacon body with 21 of those being active members.  The deacons meet approx. six times throughout the year. All of the above functions have been provided throughout the 2005 calendar year.
