CONGREGATIONAL  BUSINESS  MEETING

CHURCH  OF  THE BRETHREN,  KOKOMO                                         November 13, 2005

            Moderator, David Donaldson opened the meeting at 1:00 p.m. with prayer.   There were approximately 36 in attendance.

Reports printed and placed on the Narthex Information Table and the church website for prior review were as follows:

       The floor was opened up for questions for the above reports.  There were no questions and there were no additions or corrections to the agenda. Dick Fife and Craig Bush both made a motion to accept the reports as written. Judy Denniston seconded the motion.

 The meeting moved on to the following reports:

 Questions were called for following each report.  Written reports are on file. Jim Wann made a motion to accept these reports.  Carrie Bush seconded the motion.  The vote was taken and passed unanimously.

New Business

             Licensure of Karl Stone:  Karl is currently working on his MIT (Minister in Training). He is preaching one Sunday per month, leading a Sunday School, and directing the choir. The Board is bringing a supported motion from the Church Board and the District Ministerial Commission to approve licensure for Karl Stone. There was a time for questions or comments. A vote was taken and passed unanimously.

             Rhonda Lipinski presented the slate of officers from the Nominating and Personnel Committee.  The Moderator position will be filled at a later date. Once a moderator is found, there will be a notice in the newsletter and from the pulpit and a vote will be taken two weeks later. There were no nominations from the floor.  The slate is brought as a supported motion from Nominating and Personnel Committee.  The slate was accepted as presented.  Elected to office are:

            Ed Stutzman presented the report from Stewardship Enlistment. It is anticipated that $140,810 will be given to the church through pledges, projected pledges and loose offerings. Craig Bush passed out the proposed budget. He explained that the budget was a challenge, since there is currently no pastor. There was a time for questions and answers. A vote was called for and passed unanimously.

            Dave Donaldson read Isaiah 55 for devotions before closing the meeting. Karl Stone lead singing “We Shall Go Out With Joy”

            Dave Donaldson closed the meeting with prayer at 2:30 p.m.
